How to mass delete your tweets with Redact
The flow is slightly different depending on how many tweets you have. If you are clearing more than 1,000 posts, use the archive route in the filters step. Otherwise the standard flow takes a couple of minutes.

Connect your Twitter/X account
Open Redact, choose Twitter/X, and link your account securely. Your credentials are sent straight to Twitter/X and never touch a Redact server.

Set your content types and filters
Select what to delete: tweets, retweets, quote tweets, replies, or any combination. Then narrow it down, or leave the filters blank for a full wipe.

- Keywords: remove posts mentioning specific words or topics.

Preview, then confirm
Before anything is removed, run a Preview to check the queue and exclude any posts you want to keep. When you are happy with the batch, click Start Deletion. Want a personal copy first? Archive the batch locally.

Redact loads your whole timeline, so you are not limited to the recent posts X shows in the app.
Yes. Filter by date range, keyword, hashtag, mention, link domain, or media type, and add whitelists for terms and accounts you want to protect. Run in Select and Delete mode to review the matches and exclude anything individually before it is removed.
Redact issues real deletions through X, so removed posts come off your profile and timeline. Deleting a post also removes its attached media from your profile view. Copies that already exist outside X, such as embeds or screenshots, can persist. Archive your batch locally first if you want a private record.
X rate limits slow live deletion of large histories. Request your Twitter archive from X, then import the .zip into Redact's desktop app to delete far faster. For very large accounts you can also run smaller date slices or schedule several passes for full coverage. Archive import is a Premium feature.

Deleting removes your own original post or reply from your profile. Un-retweeting removes your share of someone else's post but does not delete the original author's content. Redact handles both, as separate content categories.
