Reddit throttles deletions aggressively, so Redact paces itself, removing about one comment every few seconds by default. If you still hit rate-limit errors on a big run, switch the rate-limit setting to a slower option and it backs off further. A very large history just takes longer: leave the app running and it works through the whole queue.

Reddit's API under-reports old comments to third-party apps, so the earliest years can be missing from any live scan. No. The thread stays intact. Your comment shows as removed and any replies left underneath it remain in place, which is how Reddit handles any deletion, whether you do it by hand or in bulk.

Permanently deleting comments needs a paid plan. Free accounts can anonymize their entire comment history with the Edit action instead, at any age. A paid plan also covers writing a custom edit message, scheduling recurring cleanups, and skipping comments you have already edited. Probably not, just hidden. When a thread's author blocks you, your comments there disappear from your own profile view even though they are still live. Turn on enhanced scan and Redact tracks these down and adds them to the run, at the cost of roughly doubling the scan time.
