The chat selector lists every conversation you've joined. Check one channel, twenty, or all of them, and the run stays inside only the chats you picked.
Inside that selection there are more dials. A date range trims by when. The message-type filter separates text from media. Keywords catch conversations about specific things, with a preserve list to shield the messages that must stay, and the built-in offensive-content classifier can flag risky messages on its own.

Date range
Set a start, an end, or a window, and Redact only touches messages sent inside it. The same date filtering that works on posts and comments applies here, so you can clear the old years and keep recent chats.

Two checkboxes. Text catches written messages, Media catches images and the like, and either can run without the other.
Keyword to delete
Only clear text messages containing a word or phrase you choose, so you can target conversations about one specific thing.

Connect your Reddit account
Open Redact, choose Reddit, and link your account securely. Your credentials are sent straight to Reddit and never touch a Redact server.

Open the Chat Messages tab
The Chat Messages tab sits beside Posts and Comments in the Advanced form, with its own channel selector and its own filters.
Chat deletion is a Premium feature. Downloading Redact and anonymizing your posts and comments with the Edit action is free; chats sit on the paid plans.

Select conversations and filters
Check the channels you want to clean, then bound the run with a date range, message type (text or media), or keywords. Add a preserve list to shield any conversation you want to keep, and turn on the offensive-content classifier to surface risky messages first.

Preview before the vanishing act
Chat deletions are permanent, so run a Preview first and read every message it matched. When the queue looks right, start the deletion and Redact clears each message straight from your device.
Private messages that stay private
A tool that touches your DMs had better not phone home. Redact doesn't. Conversations are read, matched, and deleted entirely on your device, and no fragment of any chat ever reaches a Redact server. Disconnect the account whenever you're done.

Redact removes the messages you sent. What the other participant wrote belongs to them and isn't Redact's to touch, so their copy of the thread stays with them.
