Delete Your Entire Reddit History at Once
Some accounts need tidying. Others need to go all the way to zero. A full wipe takes your posts and comments down together and clears your chats from their own tab, and the optional enhanced scan even digs out content you cannot see yourself: the posts and comments that users who blocked you have hidden from your own profile. Preview the whole haul first, then let it run.
Free to anonymize your posts & comments, any date.

What is free, and what needs a plan
Anonymizing your posts and comments with the Edit action is free on every plan, at any age. Permanently deleting them, plus chat messages, a custom edit message, and scheduling, each need a paid plan. Importing your data export to reach the oldest comments is itself free.
For when curation is a half measure
Filter-by-filter cleanup is a fine art, and sometimes art is not the assignment. A full reset is for the accounts where nothing in the history is worth keeping.
The account outgrew you
Maybe it is old enough to vote and none of it represents you anymore. Rather than clear it era by era with a date range, take the whole thing down in one pass.
Your name got attached
You are leaving for good
If you are walking away from the platform, you can leave nothing behind: the downvoted throwaways, the buried arguments, and the whole karma trail, gone in a single run.
Even the content you cannot see yourself
Users who blocked you hide your posts and comments from your own profile view, which normally hides them from cleanup tools too.
Enhanced scan digs those out. It doubles the scan time and closes the loophole, so a wipe reaches content a normal pass cannot see. It is free and available on posts and comments.
Every run is supervised: Preview drafts the entire haul before anything moves, Review & Delete lets you pardon items on the way through, Delete runs it straight, and Schedule turns the reset from a one-time event into a standing policy.
- Posts and comments clear together, links and text alike, across every subreddit.
- Chat messages clear from their own tab on a paid plan, whole conversations, text and media.
- Prefer to overwrite rather than remove? Editing replaces each body with a placeholder so archive bots capture that instead of your words. Editing is free on every plan, at any age.

- Preview first

Deletion Mode
Select everything, or spare a few things
A wipe is mostly about turning filters off. Leave them blank and Redact queues your whole history. These are the handful of switches worth checking before you run.
Posts, comments, and chats
Run posts and comments together, and chats from their own tab, so nothing is left out. Anonymizing posts and comments is free at any age; permanently deleting them, and clearing chat, need a paid plan.
All time to now
Open the date range fully so the run reaches your very first post, not just recent activity. Narrow it later with a date range if a full sweep is more than you want.
Enhanced scan
Surface posts and comments hidden by blocked users. It roughly doubles the scan time and catches what a normal scan cannot reach.
Four ways to run the reset
The same wipe supports every run mode Redact offers. Because it is irreversible, the two review modes are worth keeping close.
Preview Mode
A preview pass that drafts the entire haul before anything moves. Read as much as you can stomach, then decide.
Deletion Mode
Run it straight. Redact works through your history and removes every item, showing each one as it goes.
Review & Delete
Step through the matches and pardon anything you want to keep on the way through, then clear the rest.
Schedule Deletion
Turn the reset into a standing policy. Schedule Deletion re-runs it, and Disappearing Mode clears content as it ages past a window you set. Scheduling is a premium feature.
How to delete your entire Reddit history
Setup is a few minutes; the run itself depends on how much history you have. Preview before you commit, since a wipe cannot be undone.
- 1
Download Redact for free
Download for your device →Install Redact on your device. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, plus iOS and Android.
- 2
Connect your Reddit account
Open Redact, choose Reddit, and sign in. Your login goes straight to Reddit from your own machine, with no intermediary and no password stored anywhere.
- 3
Select everything
Open the Advanced form and switch on Posts, Comments, and Chat Messages. Each tab carries its own date range, so open all three to All time. Easy mode covers posts and comments only, so a wipe that includes chats has to run from the Advanced form.
- Switch on enhanced scan to dig out content hidden by users who blocked you.
- Add a subreddit or keyword to the preserve lists if there is anything you want to keep.
Tip: Reddit's API does not expose every old comment. If you have a large or ancient account, request your data export and import the .zip into the Comments tab so nothing slips through. Import is free and covers comments only.

Preview it all, then run
The full haul appears first. Read through it, then start the deletion and keep the app running until it finishes. To keep the account at zero, add a schedule so new activity is cleared automatically.
A reset with no middleman
A full wipe passes through exactly one machine, the one you own. Scanning, matching, and deleting all happen locally, nothing is retained, and the Reddit connection unplugs the moment you say so. Your login and your content never touch a Redact server.

Frequently asked questions
Install Redact, connect Reddit, and turn on posts, comments, and chats with the date range set from All time to Now. Switch on enhanced scan if you want content hidden by blocked users included, then run a Preview to see every item before starting the deletion. Setup takes a few minutes; the run itself scales with how much history you have.
No, and that is the point. Your username, your subscriptions, and the account itself all survive. Only the content history goes, so you keep the name without the baggage. If you want to overwrite rather than remove, editing replaces each body with a placeholder instead, and it is free on every plan.
Users who block you hide your posts and comments from your own profile, which usually hides them from cleanup tools as well. Enhanced scan does a deeper pass that surfaces those hidden items so the wipe reaches them too. It roughly doubles the scan time in exchange, and it is free on posts and comments.
Partly. Anonymizing your posts and comments with the Edit action is free on every plan, at any age, and so is importing your data export to reach the oldest comments. Permanently deleting them, plus chat messages, sits on a paid plan. So a free account can anonymize its whole history, and a paid one takes the account back to zero.
It depends on the size of the account. Redact paces itself to stay on Reddit's good side, roughly one item every four seconds by default, and comment runs have a rate-limit control you can slow down further if you start hitting errors. Enhanced scan adds time up front because it doubles the scan, but it does not change the deletion speed.
