Mass Delete Your Discord Messages

Redact loads your Discord messages and clears them in a single pass: server and channel messages, DMs, and group DMs. Wipe everything at once, or filter down to a single server, date range, content type, or keyword before anything is removed. You keep complete control over your history.

Why delete your old Discord messages

People can see, save, and screenshot old messages

Old messages don't disappear because you left the server, muted the group chat, or stopped using the account. They sit in channels, DMs, uploads, and links you probably haven't thought about in years.

01

Anything you sent can be screenshotted

A message from years ago can be captured and reshared out of context long after the moment passed. Clearing it from your side is the cleanest way to limit that.

02

Logging bots may have kept a copy

Some servers run logging bots that can save messages as they are posted. That is one more reason to clear your history sooner rather than later, before more of it is captured.

03

Employers and others screen your profiles

Surveys put the share of employers who screen candidates on social media around 76%. A single old exchange can shape how you are judged before you get a word in.

04

Discord won't bulk-delete for you

Natively you delete messages one at a time. Redact clears whole servers, DMs, or your entire Discord history in a single pass.

Remove years of content effortlessly

Clear years of Discord history at once

Most people have Discord history they've forgotten about: old servers, disbanded gaming groups, DMs with people they no longer talk to. Redact pulls it into one place so you can pick your servers, channels, and DMs, filter by date, keyword, or content type, preview what you're clearing, and bulk delete it. Everything runs locally on your device.

  • Servers & channels
  • DMs & group DMs
  • By keyword
  • By date
  • By content type
Filter before you delete

Delete everything at once, or target with stackable filters

Don't want to remove all of it in one shot? Filter the batch first and Redact deletes only the messages that match. Stack filters together to clear one server, or one bad week, while leaving the rest of your history intact.

Keyword or phrase

Clear messages that mention a topic, a name, or an old argument. Matches full words, like Discord's built-in search.

Date range

Delete messages older than a date, between two dates, or by year. Your last 30 days are free; the full range needs Premium.

Content type

Target images, videos, links, embeds, sounds, files, stickers, or text, alone or in any mix. Leave a type unchecked to keep it.

Servers & channels

Pick the exact servers, channels, threads, or forums to clean up.

Direct messages

Clear DMs and group DMs with one person, or every direct message at once.

Protect pinned messages

Keep pinned messages in place and skip them no matter which filters you apply.

Run it your way

Four ways to run the delete

Preview

Test your filters and see exactly which messages match before a single one is removed.

Deletion

Wipe everything that matches your filters in one pass, once you trust the criteria.

Review and Delete

Work through the matches batch by batch and hand-pick what to remove.

Schedule

Set a recurring cleanup so new messages don't pile back up over time.

Step-by-step guide

How to mass delete your Discord messages with Redact

Connect your account, choose what to clear, and Redact removes the matched messages for you.

  1. 1

    Download Redact for free

Install Redact on your device. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, plus iOS and Android.

    Download for your device →
  2. 2

    Connect your Discord account

Open Redact, choose Discord, and link your account. Your login is sent straight to Discord and never touches a Redact server.

  3. 3

    Pick your scope and filters

Choose the servers, channels, threads, and DMs to clean up. Leave the filters blank for a full wipe, or narrow it down.

    • Content types: include only images, videos, links, embeds, sounds, files, stickers, or text.
    • Date range: remove messages older than a date, or between two dates.
    • Keywords: clear only messages that mention specific words.
    • Protect pinned: keep pinned messages out of the batch.

Good to know: deleting your last 30 days of messages is free. Reaching further back into your history needs Premium.

  4. 4

    Preview, then confirm

Run a Preview to check the queue and exclude anything you want to keep. Turn on Local Archive first if you want a copy saved to your device. When the batch looks right, switch on Deletion.

  5. 5

    Let Redact do the work

Redact works through your history and removes each matching message, showing progress as it goes. Discord enforces deletion rate limits (about 25 messages a minute) and Redact respects them so your account stays in good standing. Keep the app running until it finishes.

Your messages never leave your device

Redact talks straight to Discord from your computer or phone, so your messages and your login never pass through a Redact server. Turn on Local Archive and a copy of everything Redact previews or deletes is saved on your device only, so you can snapshot a channel or server before you wipe it. You can disconnect Discord at any time.
