Delete All or Some of Your Instagram Saved Collections at One Time

Instagram deletes saved collections one at a time, with a confirmation for each. Our app deletes them as a batch. Give us the names to match, or no names at all to clear every saved collection. Name the ones you'd hate to lose and we'll skip them. You see the full list in a preview before anything goes, and the posts inside stay saved to your account either way.

What gets deleted

The collection goes and the saved posts stay

A saved collection is a folder of pictures and deleting one takes the folder and its name off your Saved page. Instagram keeps your pics and videos that were in it saved, and you'll still find them under All posts. So this is our tool for clearing out old folders. It doesn't unsave posts one by one.

The form is two boxes, both about the name. Name Search limits the run to collections with your word or phrase in the name. Preserve collections by name protects any collection with it in the name. Both match whole words, so summer covers Summer 2019 but not Summertime. Leave both empty and every saved collection is in the run. There's no date range, because a collection doesn't carry a date.

What a run leaves alone

Four things that stay where they are

All posts

Instagram's own All posts collection can't be deleted, so we leave it out of the list.

The posts you saved

Everything inside a deleted collection stays saved to your account. Instagram says so on its own Delete collection prompt.

Collections you protect

Any collection with your Preserve word or phrase in its name is skipped, even if it also matches Name Search. It has to be a whole word, so type the name the way it's written.

Your profile

Instagram's Saved page says only you can see what you've saved, so deleting one changes nothing on your profile. A collection you share with friends is different. They can see it too, and a run doesn't tell shared collections apart, so protect it by name if anyone still uses it.

How to do it

How to delete Instagram saved collections with Redact

    Download for your device →
  2. 2

    Connect your Instagram account

Open Redact, choose Instagram, and link your account securely. Your credentials are sent straight to Instagram and never touch a Redact server.

  3. 3

    Open Saved collections

On a computer, choose Advanced at the top of the Instagram form, then open the Saved collections tab. On a phone, pick Saved collections from the list of categories.

Heads up: deleting saved collections is a Premium feature. Deleting your last 30 days of posts, reels, and carousels is free.

  4. 4

Name what goes and what stays

Type words into Name Search to limit the run, and into Preserve collections by name to protect collections. On a phone, these are the two keyword filters. Skip both to include every saved collection.

  5. 5

    Preview, then delete

Preview lists each collection by name with the number of posts saved in it. Check it, then run the deletion and leave Redact open until it's done.

Nothing about your saves reaches Redact

The list of collections is fetched on your own device, and the deletions go to Instagram from there. What you've saved and what you called it never reach our servers.
