Facebook Messenger Deletion Features

Mass Delete Facebook Messenger Messages You Sent

Delete multiple messages you sent without removing the conversation or touching received messages. Redact uses Messenger's Unsend option when available. If Messenger only offers Remove for you, the message disappears from your view but remains visible to other participants.

Delete Messages from Selected Messenger Chats

Choose one or more individual or group conversations. Redact searches only the chats you select, so you can clean a single conversation or work across several at once. Encrypted chats are labeled and may require your Messenger secure-storage PIN.

Delete Facebook Messenger Messages by Date

Set a start date, an end date, or both. Use an open-ended range to target messages before or after a specific date, or leave the full range selected to include all available sent-message history in the chosen chats. Messages from your last 30 days are free; older history requires Premium.

Delete Facebook Messenger Messages by Keyword

Target messages containing specific words or phrases, and add preserve keywords for messages Redact should always keep. Keyword matching is case-insensitive and can be combined with date and attachment filters.

Bulk Delete Messenger Photos, Videos, and Links

Filter sent messages by Images, Videos, Link Embeds, or No attachment. Choose one or more types to remove media and links without including every message in the selected conversations.

Delete Messages from Encrypted Messenger Chats

Redact supports end-to-end encrypted chats when Messenger makes their history available. Some encrypted chats require your six-digit Messenger secure-storage PIN. The PIN is saved locally, and chats that cannot be unlocked are skipped while the rest of the cleanup continues.
