Telegram Deletion Features
Delete Telegram messages by author
Choose whose messages to remove: your own, messages from others, or both. By default Redact targets only the messages you sent. Removing other people's messages is subject to Telegram's permissions, so in channels and group chats it typically requires admin rights to delete messages.
Preserve Telegram media from deletion
Keep the content that matters. Check any of Images, Videos, Documents, Voice Notes, or Audio, and Redact skips messages containing those types, leaving them untouched while it clears everything else.
Delete Telegram messages by date range
Set a start date, an end date, or both to delete only messages from a specific window. Leave the range open to clear your full history.
Delete your Telegram messages in DMs, channels, and group chats
Target deletion across three tabs: direct messages, channels, and group chats. Pick individual conversations or select them all. Each list is searchable, so you can quickly find a specific person or conversation.
Delete your entire Telegram message history
Telegram deletions only run against the conversations you select, so a full wipe starts in the selector: open the DMs, Channels, and Chats tabs and select every conversation in each one. Leave the author, preserve, and date filters at their defaults, switch to Deletion Mode, and start. Deletion is irreversible, so only choose this for a completely fresh start.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. A premium subscription is required for Telegram deletions. You can download Redact and start on the free plan, then upgrade when you're ready to clean up Telegram. The Free column under Compare Plans shows what's free on each platform.
No. Redact deletes the messages inside a direct message, channel, or group chat, but it never removes the channel or chat itself. To leave or delete a channel or group, do that within the Telegram app.
Yes, wherever Telegram permits it. Select "From others" in the "Delete by author" filter. In channels and group chats, removing other people's messages typically requires admin rights to delete messages; in direct messages, Redact can remove the other person's messages just as Telegram's "delete for everyone" option allows.
Yes. Use the Preserve Filter and check Images, Videos, Documents, Voice Notes, or Audio. Redact skips any message containing those types and deletes the rest, so your media stays in place while your other messages are cleared.
When Redact deletes a Telegram message, it sends a delete request to Telegram and the message is removed from your account. Telegram processes deletions on its own servers, so recovery is not something Redact can offer. Use Preview Mode first to confirm which messages match your filters before running a full deletion.
