Here’s how to delete all of your Reddit comments quickly and easily.
Dan SaltmanSo, you want to mass delete all your old reddit comments at one time? I have good news and bad news for you, which do you want first?
OK, bad news first, I like your style!
Bad news: Reddit doesn’t offer a built-in feature that will allow you to remove all your comments at once. The only way to do it using reddit is to delete comment by comment. Depending on how long you’ve been a reddit member, you may have thousands upon thousands of comments. This could take ages.
Good news: Today is your lucky day, bucko. We happen to have built an entire app around removing not only reddit comment history, but also your old posts, and chat history.
For the sake of this post, we will just be covering comments today.

With Redact, you have the option of targeting your old comments based on keywords, date ranges, karma count, or you can target comments made only in specific sub-reddits that you specify. Read below for the full feature list.

Delete All Reddit Comments FAQ
Can I delete all my Reddit comments at once from Reddit itself?
No. Reddit removes one comment at a time from the overflow menu on each comment, and there is no account-wide switch that clears them all. Anything bulk has to be automated on top of that.
Why edit a comment before deleting it instead of just deleting it?
Third-party archive bots record the text of comments as they are posted, but usually never revisit them to record later edits. Overwriting a comment first and deleting afterwards leaves those mirrors holding the replacement text rather than the original.
Is deleting Reddit comments with Redact free?
Editing (anonymizing) your comments is free across your whole history, and it is the default action for Reddit. Permanently deleting comments is a premium action.
Which filters can Redact apply to Reddit comments?
Filter by date range, by subreddits to clean or to leave alone, by keywords in the comment body, and by engagement ceilings such as score. You can also skip comments you already edited so repeat runs stay fast.
Can I keep comments in a few subreddits while clearing the rest?
Yes. Add those subreddits to "Subreddits to not delete from", or add words worth keeping to the comment keyword preserve list. Both act as a whitelist during the run.
How do I check what a run will touch before anything is removed?
Use Preview to list matches without changing anything, or Review & Delete to approve items individually. Start with a narrow date range, confirm the results, then widen it.
Does deleting my comments change my karma or account age?
Karma already earned stays with the account, and deleting comments does not reset your account age. What changes is that the comment text is no longer attached to your profile.
Can I clean up Reddit chat messages too, not just comments?
Yes. Reddit chat is its own category in Redact, with its own channel selector and keyword filters, so you can clear chats separately from posts and comments.
Can Redact keep new comments from piling up again?
Yes. Save your filters and schedule recurring runs so anything newer than your chosen window is edited or removed automatically.
Does Redact store my Reddit credentials or comment text on Redact servers?
No. Redact runs on your own machine and uses the minimum access needed to perform the actions you approve. You can disconnect Reddit at any time.
What if I have years of history and thousands of comments?
Reddit's own listings only page back so far, so use Redact's data package import to feed in your Reddit data export and reach the older items the site will not return.
Is Redact easy to try for Reddit?
Yes. Download Redact for free, sign in with a passwordless email code, connect Reddit, and start by anonymizing recent comments. Upgrade later if you want permanent deletion.
