PeopleLooker LLC has its own BBB business profile in Atlanta with its own phone line, and peoplelooker.com is named on the California data-broker registration filed as "BeenVerified, LLC and its subsidiaries and affiliates" out of 48 W 38th Street in New York. Nobody is hiding who runs this.

That filing is worth reading closely, because it is bigger than most write-ups of this family suggest. It covers thirteen domains on one registration - beenverified.com, peoplelooker.com, numberguru.com, ownerly.com, neighborwho.com, peoplesmart.com, bumper.com, freephonetracer.com, emailfinder.com, moneybot5000.com, reversephone.com, wingmate.com, and famfinder.com - with privacy@ltvco.com as the single registered contact for all of them. One of the thirteen has since left the business, since wingmate.com now runs an astrology app rather than a people search.

The same filing carries the family's own 2024 rights-request numbers, and they're the most useful thing on it. LTVCO reported 31,905 deletion requests received, 19,791 granted in full, 11,512 granted in part, and 602 denied, with a mean response time of 10 days and a median of 3. PeopleLooker LLC is a defendant in its own right. Atlas named it in the first Daniel's Law complaint in February 2024, a case that went back to New Jersey state court later that year, and in April 2026 it was added to a Colorado cell-number class action in New York that the plaintiff dismissed four months later. The other two cases below were brought against the parent over PeopleSmart's $1 trial, an offer much like the one PeopleLooker sells.

Daniel's Law gives New Jersey judges, prosecutors, law enforcement officers and their families a right to have their home addresses and unlisted numbers taken off sites like this one, and it lets them assign that right to someone else. Atlas Data Privacy Corporation collected 19,398 assignments and sued the LTVCO companies over them, with PeopleLooker LLC on the first complaint.

In April 2024 the defendants removed it to federal court. That November, Judge Harvey Bartle III ruled on forty Atlas cases at once. He found the federal court had no jurisdiction over 39 of them, this one included, and sent those back to the state courts, with only a suit against MyHeritage staying in federal court. The Third Circuit declined to hear an appeal on March 18, 2025.

The case was on Atlas's November 2025 list of 111 pending state suits, and New Jersey's Supreme Court refused Atlas's request to have those suits managed together on May 1, 2026, and there's no published ruling on the merits that we've found.

Bursor & Fisher filed this in March 2025 on behalf of Colorado residents, relying on Colorado's 2005 ban on knowingly including a person's cellphone number in a commercial directory without permission. The complaint said a people-search site showing Coloradans' cell numbers in its free previews does exactly that. It began against BeenVerified and the parent, and an amended complaint filed in April 2026 added PeopleLooker LLC and five more of the family's companies.

The judge set a new schedule for motions to dismiss in July 2026, but the plaintiff ended the case first. Its August 11 notice dismissed every defendant without prejudice, so the claim was never tested and could come back.

The filing doesn't say whether anything was paid, so we don't call it a settlement.

Six people from California, Nevada, Indiana and Alabama filed this in March 2025, through the same plaintiffs' firm as the Ohio case above. The complaint says the parent used their names and details in PeopleSmart's $1 trial to sell subscriptions, a commercial use their states' publicity laws forbid without consent. The docket files it under fraud, but all four counts in the original complaint are publicity claims and the complaint never mentions PeopleLooker. LTVCO asked the court to throw out the amended complaint in October 2025, and the docket still showed the case open as of July 2026.

Apart from the cases above, we haven't found a lawsuit naming PeopleLooker LLC. Fresh searches also found no FTC enforcement action, no state attorney general or California privacy agency action, and no data breach or leak affecting PeopleLooker or the wider LTVCO family as of the last-updated date below.
