LLC as controller, LTVCO's brand page lists Ownerly in the family, the BBB profile shares BeenVerified's Manhattan address with co-founder Ross Cohen as CEO, and California's registry covers ownerly.com under the family filing - whose latest metrics report 502,683 do-not-sell requests across the brands.

Two suits name Ownerly

Ownerly, LLC has been a named defendant twice, both times alongside the parent company and other LTVCO brands. The New Jersey Daniel's Law case went back to state court in November 2024 after the defendants moved it to federal court, and a class action filed in New York that added Ownerly, LLC in April 2026 was dropped that August. The Illinois case below was brought against the parent company.

Ownerly's product is names attached to home addresses, which is exactly what Daniel's Law lets New Jersey judges, prosecutors, police officers and their families have taken down, along with unlisted phone numbers. Atlas Data Privacy Corporation sued the LTVCO companies under it in Mercer County on February 7, 2024, as assignee for roughly 19,400 covered people, and Ownerly, LLC was a defendant from the start.

The companies moved the case to federal court in April 2024. On November 20, 2024 that court granted the plaintiffs' motion to send it back, as it did for 38 other Atlas suits the same day, because it found it had no jurisdiction over them. Ownerly, LLC was among the defendants who asked the Third Circuit for leave to appeal, and the answer on March 18, 2025 was no.

The case was still pending in Mercer County in November 2025, when Atlas listed it among 111 state cases it wanted handled together, and in January 2026, when the defendants' lawyers opposed that plan. New Jersey's Supreme Court turned the plan down on May 1, 2026. We haven't seen a public record of how the case has gone since.

Bursor & Fisher filed this putative class action in March 2025 against BeenVerified, LLC and the parent, for Colorado residents whose cell numbers were listed on beenverified.com. Its claim was that listing a cell number in a commercial directory without the owner's consent breaks a Colorado telemarketing law passed in 2005. The amended complaint of April 2026 widened the defendants to six more family companies, Ownerly, LLC and NumberGuru's among them. The plaintiff then dismissed the whole case without prejudice on August 11, 2026, before any ruling on the claim, so it could be brought again.
