Making Discord timestamps: FAQ
Pick a date, a time and a time zone in the Discord timestamp generator to get the code in all nine formats. Press Copy on the format you want and paste it into a message. Discord shows the date in each reader's time zone.
No, and that's the point. Discord shows it in each reader's own time zone. A code that means 8pm in New York shows as 1am the next day in London. Typing "8pm Eastern" leaves everyone else to work it out for themselves, and some will get it wrong and show up at the wrong hour.
t shows hours and minutes (9:01 PM), and T adds seconds (9:01:00 PM). d shows a short date (5/11/2024), and D shows a long date (May 11, 2024). f shows the long date and time (May 11, 2024 at 9:01 PM). Discord uses f when no letter is given. F adds the day of the week. s shows the short date with hours and minutes (5/11/2024, 9:01 PM), and S adds seconds (5/11/2024, 9:01:00 PM). R shows time relative to now, such as "in 2 hours" or "3 days ago". Discord updates the relative time as time passes.
Like this: <t:1715461260:F>. The number counts the seconds since the start of 1970. The letter at the end picks the format, and if you leave it off Discord shows the date and time together.
No. Timestamps are built into Discord, so anyone who can send a message can post one. This Discord timestamp generator only writes the code. Discord turns it into a date once it's posted, on any plan, free or paid, with nothing to install and no bot to add to your server.
Pick the date of your event, then copy the relative format, the one ending in :R>. It reads "in 2 hours" before the date and "3 days ago" after, and it keeps itself up to date.
Use the Discord timestamp converter. Paste the code and it shows the date and time it stands for.
