How to check a Discord invite: FAQ
Paste the invite link in above before you click it. The checker shows how old the server is, how many of its members are online, its verification level, whether Discord has verified or partnered it, and how old the inviter's account is. It flags what's worth a second look.
Discord lets anyone look up an invite without signing in. It's the same information Discord shows on its own invite page when you click a link. Your browser asks Discord directly, and the request never goes through Redact's servers or anyone else's, so nobody sits in the middle.
Yes. Pasting an invite into this safety checker only triggers a preview lookup against Discord. It doesn't make you join the server, doesn't reveal your account to the server's owner, and doesn't contact the inviter. The server and the people in it can't tell that you ever previewed it.
Discord doesn't count members fresh each time. It gives a number that can be a little out of date. For checking a server, a few hundred either way doesn't matter. What counts is the rough size and how many of them are online right now, and Discord's rough numbers are good enough for that.
The badges themselves can't be faked; they're flags Discord sets on the server record, granted only after Discord's own approval process. What scammers do is put words like "Verified" or "Official" in the server name to fool people. This tool reads the actual flag, not the name.
Paste it in. A working invite shows the server's details, and an expired or invalid one shows an error. Discord gives the same answer for an invite that never existed, was deleted or has expired. If a normal permanent invite stops working, the server itself was likely deleted or the invite revoked.
It shows who made the invite link you paste, when Discord includes that, along with the age of their account. It can't show which invite a member used to join. Inside a server, the Invites page in Server Settings lists each invite link, who made it and how many times it's been used.
Yes. A custom link like discord.gg/python works the same as a random invite code here.
No signal is perfect. A scam server can be old, well-populated and free of red flags here, and still scam you once you join. Treat green-light results as "I didn't find any obvious red flags" rather than "this is definitely safe." If something looks too good to be true, it almost always is.
