A free site that turns state voter rolls into a searchable page per voter, covering the 16 states and DC on its list. Each page shows party, age, registration date, voter status and home address, with race and gender where the state records them. The site names no company, but its lawyers told a federal appeals court it's owned by Synaptix Technology, LLC. The BBB rates it F with all 18 recent complaints unanswered, and the opt-out, by its own account, strips only a house number, phone and email.

VoterRecords calls itself a "free political research tool". It takes voter files that it says governments released under public-records laws, gives each voter a page, and charts the electorate by party, race, age and gender. It runs ads and affiliate links, and no page on the site names the company behind it.

The owner surfaced in a lawsuit instead. In a Daniel's Law case that reached federal court in March 2024, the defendant named as "VoterRecords.com" was defended by Synaptix Technology, LLC, and in an April 2025 disclosure statement to the Third Circuit its lawyers wrote that "Voterrecords.com is a website owned by Synaptix Technology, LLC, and not a separate entity." Nothing on the site, its BBB file or California's data broker registry mentions Synaptix.

The terms speak only of "VoterRecords.com, and its operator". The privacy policy says state privacy rights "do not apply" to the voter data on the site, and sends requests to correct or remove it to the agency that released it. What it offers instead is the record opt-out in its FAQ.

The opt-out leaves most of this up. The form says it removes the house number, phone and email address, and the FAQ, revised in 2026, now names only the house number. Name, age, party, voter status and the rest of the address stay public. The site keeps full removal for people with an official exemption from public records.

Record pages carry buttons that sell other brokers' reports. View phone number and Background Report redirect through a BeenVerified affiliate link, View Report and Run Background Search through a TruthFinder one, and each link passes along the name, city and state from the record on screen. The privacy policy calls them affiliate-sponsored links. That's the whole documented tie; neither company is shown to own VoterRecords, and nothing says an opt-out here reaches them.

The BBB file holds the complaints, and they read one way. None from the last three years has an answer, and a notice on the file describes opt-outs that didn't stick and people who couldn't reach the business. BBB asked the site for a fix on September 13, 2021 and had no reply by November 9.

Atlas sued as assignee for law enforcement officers and other people the statute covers. After the facial challenge failed, the Third Circuit took it up alongside 39 other appeals and asked New Jersey's highest court what a defendant has to know to be liable. That court answered in August 2026, and the appeals court hadn't ruled by September 10. On September 3, 2026 its clerk struck VoterRecords.com from the caption after counsel said the site belongs to Synaptix and isn't a separate entity.

No other lawsuit naming VoterRecords turned up in federal court records, and no data breach is documented.

Quick answers
Who owns VoterRecords?

Synaptix Technology, LLC, by its own lawyers' account. The site names no company, but in an April 2025 disclosure statement to the Third Circuit, counsel wrote that VoterRecords.com is a website owned by Synaptix and not a separate entity. The BBB lists an address in Doral, Florida, and the terms choose Florida law.

Can I remove myself from VoterRecords?

Partly. Each record page ends with a Record Opt-Out link, and a short form plus an email link takes the house number, phone and email off, by the site's own account. Everything else stays up. The removal guide walks all six screens.

Can I get my whole record taken down?

Only with an official exemption from public records, the FAQ says, sent with proof through the contact form. The other route runs through your state. Many states keep voter records confidential for address confidentiality program participants, and some on request, as NCSL's state-by-state table shows.

Does an opt-out here clear BeenVerified or TruthFinder?

No. Their buttons on VoterRecords are affiliate links, and nothing says a removal here reaches either company. Each runs its own, covered in the BeenVerified and TruthFinder guides.

Is VoterRecords covered by the FCRA?

No. The disclaimer at the foot of every page says VoterRecords "is not a consumer reporting agency" and bars using the site for employment, housing, credit, insurance or any other FCRA purpose.
