MugshotLook has rebuilt the page that used to turn everybody away. When we tried it in August, the removal search blamed a CAPTCHA it never displayed. Opened again on October 8, 2026, that address held a different thing entirely, a request form with no search step at all. You tell MugshotLook whose record it is, leave an email address, and confirm from your inbox. We didn't file a live request, so treat the timings below as the company's promises.

How to do it
On MugshotLook's Privacy Requests page, a framed box offers Your Privacy Choices and Remove My Information. Click the second. The fields underneath redraw, and the button at the bottom changes its label to match.
MugshotLook asks for a first and last name, a birth date picked from month, day and year lists, and a city, ZIP code and state. Use the details of the person in the photo as the site would hold them, which for an arrest record usually means where they lived at the time.
Type an email address into the box under Confirming your request and press Submit removal request. A check that you're human may come next. We can't describe it, because we stopped here.
MugshotLook says it sends a confirmation link and holds the removal until you use it. After the click, the page promises the person won't come up in new searches or in reports members already have. It adds one caveat worth reading twice, that a copy somebody downloaded earlier is out of its hands.
The option that's preselected won't take a mugshot down. It records a do-not-sell choice against an email or phone number and says so itself. Change it before you fill anything in.

MugshotLook shares its California registration with PrivateReports and PublicSearcher, and a listing on one usually means a listing on the others. All three now serve this form under their own names. Send a request on each, because MugshotLook's page describes stopping results for a person on this site and is silent about the other two.
If it fails
An error instead of a confirmation screen. The old page failed with a CAPTCHA message for months. If you see anything like it, call (888) 408-3417, which the form offers for completing a request by phone.
Nothing in your inbox. Give it a few hours, look in junk, then file again using another address.
Past 45 days and the photo is still up. Email support@mugshotlook.com and copy support@privatereports.com. The second is the contact Infomatics LLC put on its California data-broker registration.
You live in California. Infomatics LLC is registered, so the state's DROP platform reaches it with a single deletion request.
A charge you didn't expect. The dollar trial that turns into $39.82 is a separate fight from removal, and your card issuer is the backstop if refunds stall.
Stay off
An arrest photo is the kind of record that gets copied. Removing it here doesn't touch the county source or the other mugshot sites that scraped the same roster, so search your name with the word mugshot once the listing is gone and deal with what turns up. MugshotLook's own search isn't a safe way to check. On October 8, 2026 it put a credit card box in front of the results for a test name. Use a search engine and add site:mugshotlook.com to your name every few months.
Redact scans data broker sites from your device, finds where your details are listed, and submits the removal requests for you. If a broker relists you, it files again.
October 8, 2026 · Rebuilt from the Privacy Requests page MugshotLook serves today, which we opened, read to the end and captured on October 8 without submitting. It replaces the August 10 account of a search that failed on every attempt. The link by email, the 45 day figure and the phone option are MugshotLook's claims. The filed contact comes from Infomatics LLC's California registration. On the same date a full run of this form on Background Checkers, a platform sibling, reached a Removal confirmed screen after the emailed link was clicked.
