Yes. MugshotLook is a people-search site specializing in mugshots, arrest histories, and criminal-records reports, sold as $1 trial reports that convert to a recurring subscription. It's registered as a data broker with the California Attorney General (registration #542906, shared with PrivateReports), and it was one of the 15 brands researcher JayeLTee found on the shared MC2 Data backend exposed in 2024.

Infomatics LLC of Woodland Hills, California, which also operates PrivateReports and PublicSearcher - one California data-broker registration covers all three domains, and they share the same support infrastructure. The brand family runs on the backend Cybernews attributed to MC2 Data, LLC, a Florida-based company that withdrew its registration weeks after the 2024 breach became public. No corporate filing we can cite documents the formal relationship between the two entities.

The opt-out starts at the Do Not Sell Or Share My Personal Info link in the site footer, where you search your name and state and pick your record. When we walked it on August 10, 2026 the search errored out every time with a captcha-verification message, on a form that never showed a CAPTCHA to solve, so we could not get past step one. Retry later, and if it stays down, email support@mugshotlook.com with your name, state, and the listing details. Assume no. The family shares a backend, but the operator has never confirmed that suppression travels between brands, so each site that lists you needs its own request. The same form runs everywhere and works in some places only. PeopleSearch123 and PrivateReports can be finished. InmatesSearcher, Background Checkers and Check Secrets refuse everyone, as this site does, so those need a written request.

The $1 trial converts to a ~$39.82 charge if not canceled within 48 hours, and the subscription then renews at ~$49.82 a month - the single most common complaint in MugshotLook's reviews. Cancel through support@mugshotlook.com or (888) 408-3417, and dispute the charge with your card issuer if support doesn't resolve it.

Not by its own account. MugshotLook disclaims being a consumer reporting agency and says its reports aren't for employment, credit, insurance, or tenant-screening decisions. A disclaimer isn't a ruling, though - if a report was used against you in one of those decisions anyway, the FCRA may still give you rights. The disclaimer also doesn't soften the practical harm of an old arrest photo surfacing in a name search, which is why removal is worth doing.
