Check Secrets used to hide its opt-out behind a footer link and a CAPTCHA made of scribbles. Both are history. The address that once opened a record search now opens a page called Privacy Requests, and removal is the second of two options on it. You identify one person, give an email, and confirm through a link the site sends. We went through the page on October 8, 2026 without filing anything, so the part after the button is reported in Check Secrets' own words.

Two requests live on that page and they aren't alike. The top one, Your Privacy Choices, takes an email or a phone number and stops Check Secrets selling or sharing your information. It leaves the listing up. Only the second removes anything.
Walkthrough
Skip the footer hunt and load checksecrets.com/api/helper/optOutLight/search. Under the question What would you like to do? choose Remove My Information. Its description promises to stop results for a person being returned and warns it needs enough detail to pick out the right one.
The form wants, in order, a first name, an optional middle initial, a last name, a date of birth split across month, day and year menus, a city, a ZIP code and a state. The ZIP box only accepts five digits.
Check Secrets says on the page that it keeps these details on file so it can go on suppressing the record, and that it doesn't sell or share them. You are handing a data broker a date of birth to get off its site, and it's worth knowing that before you type.
The last box is an email address for the confirmation link. A secondary or masked address works as long as you can read it. Press Submit removal request.
Our read of the page ended at that button. Its code allows for a CAPTCHA on the way through, so one may appear after you press it.
Check Secrets states that it logs the request the moment you submit and that this date starts its deadlines. The removal itself waits for you. In the form's words, "we don't remove anything until that link is clicked." Look in spam if the message is slow.
If it stalls
The phone. (855) 754-7951 is printed on the form for people whose link never reaches them. It's also the number Truth Now LLC filed with California.
Email to the registered contact. support@checksecrets.com is the address on Truth Now LLC's data-broker registration. Give your name, the state on the listing and the date you submitted, and ask for deletion.
California's DROP platform. Truth Now LLC is a registered broker, so a California resident can send one deletion request through DROP and have it reach this company along with every other registrant.
For California residents, the clock is statutory too. The CCPA gives a business 45 calendar days to answer a verifiable deletion request, with one extension to 90 if it tells you. That matches the number on the form.
Stay off
The form says the suppression covers matching records Check Secrets takes in later, which is a stronger promise than most people-search sites make. Hold it to that. Checking is the awkward part. Check Secrets' own search wanted a credit card for a $0.30 identity hold when we ran a test name on October 8, 2026, and you shouldn't give one. Put your name and site:checksecrets.com into a search engine a couple of months after confirming, then a few times a year.
Truth Now LLC files SealedRecords and People Search USA on the same California registration, and InmatesSearcher runs the same software. Each has this page under its own domain, and none of them says a request on one carries to another, so do them one at a time.
Redact scans data broker sites from your device, finds where your details are listed, and submits the removal requests for you. If a broker relists you, it files again.
October 8, 2026 · The August guide recorded a form that could not be submitted. Check Secrets has since replaced it, and this version describes the Privacy Requests page as served on October 8, read in full and captured the same day. No request was sent, so the confirmation email and the 10 and 45 day windows are quoted from the page, not observed. Escalation contacts come from Truth Now LLC's California registration. The identical form was walked to its confirmation page on Background Checkers the same day, where the email was titled OptOut Request Confirmation and landed in spam.
