How to Mass Delete Quora Answers and Comments

Quora can be a great place to share knowledge, but over time, your answers and comments may no longer reflect who you are. Whether you are cleaning up old takes, removing sensitive content, or simply ready to move on, you may want that activity gone.

Please note: Quora isn't on Redact's supported services list right now, so the cleanup described below isn't something you can run today. The services page lists the platforms Redact does cover.

Why Delete Your Quora History?

There are many reasons to clean up your Quora account:

1. The Redact app used for Quora

Redact is still available for Windows and macOS, but the current app does not include Quora. You can check the supported services before downloading it.

2. How the Quora connection worked

When the service was available, the Quora card appeared in the app's service list. The current app has no Quora card or Quora sign in.

3. How users chose Quora content

The former service split Quora content into answers and comments, with a checkbox for each.

Leaving only "Answers" checked targeted the answers a user had written, and leaving only "Comments" checked targeted comments left on other people's questions and answers. Keeping both checked covered both content types.

4. How the date filter worked

The date range filter narrowed a run to a particular period. A start date covered content posted after that point, and an end date covered older content. The calendar tool selected a month or year, and the Reset button cleared the filters.

5. How the keyword filter worked

A Quora run needed at least one keyword. Users entered a word or phrase, and Add put it in the list. The X beside an entry removed it, and Clear All emptied the list. Matching used full words, so "vacation" matched "vacation" but did not match "vacations."

Redact will find and delete content on Quora based on keywords you enter. Enter your chosen text in the input field, and click the add button to add it. To remove a text, just click the “x” that is in line with the text. To clear all text, click the clear all button.

6. Which run modes were available

The former Quora service had several run modes:

Preview Mode: see what a run would match before anything is removed
Review & Delete: approve each item by hand
Deletion Mode: remove everything the filters match
Schedule Deletion: repeat the run on a schedule, so answers and comments stay temporary

Deletions were permanent, so a preview run was the safer first step, especially with a broad keyword list.

Why Bulk Deletion Beats Manual Cleanup

Removing thousands of answers and comments by hand takes a long time, and it is easy to miss items. Redact cannot automate the work while Quora remains unavailable.

Quora does not offer a single remove all button. You can remove items one by one. Bulk tools can automate batches using filters for dates, keywords, and locations.

What is the difference between deleting and editing an answer on Quora?

Deleting removes your answer from public view. Editing keeps the post but changes its content. If you want the post gone, use delete. If you only need to remove sensitive parts, edit is enough.

How does a Redact Quora cleanup get set up?

You cannot set up a Quora cleanup in Redact today, because the current app has no Quora card or Quora sign in. The archived workflow let users choose Answers, Comments, or both, and then add keywords for the run to match.

Should I export my Quora data before running a bulk deletion?

Yes. Request a personal archive if available or save copies of important posts. Store archives offline or in encrypted storage for future reference.

Does Redact store my Quora credentials or my content on its servers?

Redact does not accept Quora credentials today, because the current app has no Quora connection.

Will deleting answers break links I shared on my profile or elsewhere?

Yes. Links to deleted answers will stop working. If you need to preserve context, make a private copy before deletion or replace links with updated resources.
