Opting out clears ThatsThem's search results only. Anything held by other sites, or by the public-records sources it indexes, stays where it is.
Prereqs
An email address that reaches you. The confirmation lands there within 72 hours. A forwarding address is the better pick, since whatever you type in is one more record the broker holds.
The 1 step
Open thatsthem.com/optout. Fill in Full Name, Street Address, City, State, ZIP, Phone and Email, pass the Cloudflare Turnstile check, then click Submit opt-out request. A green checkmark and Request Submitted! replace the form. That's it.
Confirm it worked
Give it the 72 hours ThatsThem quotes, then search yourself on thatsthem.com in a private window. Try all four tabs, Name, Address, Phone and Email, because the site keys the same person several ways and clearing one doesn't promise the others are clear. An old address, a second phone or a dead email can each be a listing of its own, and each needs its own form.
Troubleshooting
No confirmation email. Look in spam. The green panel you saw at submit is still proof the request went in.
The button does nothing. A required field is blank or flagged. If it still won't go, turn off ad and tracker blockers for that tab.
Still listed after 72 hours. Submit again. If that fails too, email optout@thatsthem.com with what you entered and a screenshot of the confirmation. Californians can complain to the CPPA.
Someone wants paying. Opting out is free. The only paid thing on the site is the Spokeo report upsell.
Stay off
Look again every three months. The index rebuilds weekly from 50-plus sources, so a listing can be back within weeks.
Do Spokeo as well. ThatsThem is on Spokeo's filing, but Spokeo's privacy policy says its own tool covers every operated site except thatsthem.com, so the request you make here leaves your spokeo.com listing up. The Spokeo removal guide walks the parent's.
Starve the sources. Property rolls and voter registrations are what bring a listing back. Some states run address confidentiality programs that suppress those records at the source.
