The pitch is freshness. UpLead advertises records that are verified as you search and ranked by how recently they were checked. A record carries a person's name, photo, job title, employer, direct phone number and linked social profiles, plus the employer's revenue band, headcount, SIC and NAICS codes. Unlock Email on a row is the moment a credit is spent and a stranger acquires your address.
The people-search brokers in this directory scrape public records that exist because you bought a house or registered to vote. UpLead's raw material is your employment. It also sells intent signals about what a company appears to be researching, an inference drawn from behaviour rather than anything a person volunteered.
The mobile number is the field that matters. A switchboard number is public by design. A direct mobile isn't, it reaches you outside working hours, and once it's sold into prospecting workflows it propagates into dialers and SMS campaigns that have no relationship with UpLead. It's also the field most likely to follow you to your next employer.

UpLead draws a line around "business identity", and it matters for what a deletion gets you. Its removal page states it "only collects, uses, and shares Data about companies and professionals that work within companies", and that it takes reasonable steps to ensure personal information not related to your business identity is removed. Read plainly, your work contact details are what the product treats as in scope, so ask for deletion rather than assuming a tidy-up covers them.

The URL on the state filing is the URL that works. UpLead filed https://www.uplead.com/opt-out/ with California and that's exactly where the form lives, the exception in this directory rather than the rule. The filed contact is another matter. techteam@uplead.com is an engineering alias, and the privacy policy names support@uplead.com instead, so use the webform as the primary route and keep your own record of it.

How do I get my details out of UpLead, and why is there no opt-out option?
Fill in the form at uplead.com/opt-out and choose Delete my Information as the Request Type. That's the opt-out too. UpLead's own page says that to exercise the opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information you should "select the type to 'Delete my information'". You need your name, a contact email, and at least one of the work email or phone number you want removed. Our UpLead removal guide walks the form field by field.
How did UpLead get my work email and mobile number?
Not from you. Its privacy policy lists publicly available information on the internet, third-party companies that license data to it, and lead-generation and marketing partners as its sources. You're compiled because you're employed, then verified before being sold. There's no sign-up step in which a listed person agrees to be included.
Does the request have to come from the email I want removed?
No, and the form says so directly, that the contact email "can be different or the same as the email you request data for". So you can file from a personal address to remove a work address, which is useful if you have already left the employer whose email is listed.
Will my details come back after removal?
They can. UpLead's product promise is continuously refreshed records, so a job change, a new profile or a company page update can put you back. That's why re-listing scores highest of the six dimensions on this profile.
