How to remove your info from Pipl

Pipl shut down its free public search, which makes people assume there's nothing to opt out of. There is. The removal form is live, it's free, and it takes a couple of minutes - and you can ask what Pipl holds about you at the same time.

Ask for disclosure as well as deletion. The form lets you request both in one submission, and this is a company whose whole product is connecting identifiers to each other. Seeing what it has linked to your name is worth the extra click, and it gives you something concrete to point at if the deletion comes back incomplete.

Submit the removal request

Open pipl.com/personal-information-removal-request. The form's required fields are Full Name, Email Address, Type (Deletion, Disclosure, or Disclosure + Deletion) and a Message box; Phone Number and Address are optional. In the Message, ask Pipl to delete the records it holds about you and add anything that helps it match them, such as previous names, cities and a profile URL if you have one. The end of the form has two checks, a math problem you answer in a box and a Google reCAPTCHA, and the Submit button is greyed out when the page loads, so complete both before you look for it.

Pipl's own wording on that page is that the company is "happy to accommodate your request to remove your personal information from our services", which is about as unambiguous as these pages get.

Use an email address you can access, since that's how they'll come back to you - but there's no reason it has to be your primary one.

List your aliases and usernames in any free-text field you're given. Pipl's index is built around linking handles, usernames, and email addresses to a real identity. A deletion keyed only to your legal name may leave the linked identifiers behind.

If you're in California, use the statutory route too

Pipl is a registered California data broker, which means the Delete Act and the CCPA both apply and its obligations are legal rather than discretionary. It publishes two dedicated pages - a CCPA disclosure and deletion form and a California privacy notice for individuals covering opt-out of sale.

The opt-out of sale matters more here than it does at most brokers. Pipl's own filing says it shared or sold consumer data to the federal government, to state governments, and to law enforcement in the past year, so an opt-out of sale is doing real work rather than being a formality.

Don't rely on the "30 days" figure you'll see quoted. That number appears in third-party removal guides, not in anything Pipl publishes. The CCPA's own statutory response window is the standard to hold them to, and Pipl's own California privacy notice reports a median response of about half a day across the 19,227 deletion requests it received in 2025.

Check it worked

There's no public search to check yourself against, which is what makes this removal different - you can't verify it the way you'd verify a people-search opt-out. That's exactly why the disclosure request is worth submitting alongside the deletion.

Keep the confirmation and the date. If you asked for disclosure and got nothing back, that's the thing to escalate on, because a disclosure request is easier to prove was ignored than a deletion you can't see.

You're being told there's nothing to remove. Ask for disclosure in writing instead. A company that holds nothing about you can say so on the record, and a company that does has to tell you what.
You found yourself on pipl.ai instead. That's a different, unrelated company. Nothing on this page applies to it.
Your data reached a business through Pipl rather than from it. Pipl licenses identity data into other companies' fraud and risk systems, so a decision made about you may be downstream of a record Pipl holds. Deleting at Pipl takes the records it holds now out of future licensing, but it doesn't reach copies already delivered to a customer, and anything Pipl collects about you later may need another request.

Pipl builds its index with a continuous crawler over web documents, profiles, public records, directories, blogs, news, and publications, plus data licensed from other aggregators. Both halves of that matter. A new public post can put you back, and so can a purchase from another broker you've never dealt with.

The leverage you have here is upstream. Reducing what the people-search brokers publish about you reduces what Pipl's crawler and its licensing partners can pick up in the first place.
