Disqus comments can span years across countless sites – often forgotten, but still searchable. These old remarks may include outdated opinions, personal details, or content taken out of context. If you’ve ever wanted to delete your Disqus comments in bulk, you’ve probably realized Disqus doesn’t offer a way to do this. Deleting all your Disqus comments manually is a time-consuming, tedious process;

  1. Navigate to your profile, then your comment history.
  2. Right click “View in Discussion” to open individual comments in a new tab.
  3. When the page loads, click the drop-down, then click Delete to remove the comment
  4. Repeat this process for all comments you want to delete.

This process will likely take hours or longer depending on your use of Disqus. Whether you’re looking to clean up old comments, want to protect your privacy, Redact.dev makes it easy to bulk delete your Disqus activity in one go.

3. Delete by Date Range

Redact lets you select specific types of content in your Disqus account:

Choose a custom timeframe to remove your comments.

  • Set a Start Date to delete Disqus content after the set date.
  • Set an End Date to bulk remove Disqus content from before a set date.
  • Use the calendar tool to easily select the month or year for your Disqus mass deletion.
  • Click the Reset button to clear your filters

These settings are perfect for deleting posts tied to specific events or outdated opinions you’ve shared on Disqus.

Mass deletion of emails can be specified by Start Date (only delete emails after this date) or End Date (only delete emails before this date). You can select by month by clicking the month label, and by year by clicking the year label. Clicking the Reset red text will reset the date value for that field.

4. Delete by Disqus Title Keyword or Phrase

Redact lets you target specific Disqus content by entering a word or phrase that appears in your content’s title.

Just enter the phrase you’d like Redact to search for, and we’ll find any of your content where that phrase or keyword is used in the title. This is great for finding and removing outdated opinions or sensitive discussions.

5. Wipe Your Entire Disqus History

If you want a clean slate, skip the filters, select Deletion Mode, and click Start Deleting. This will permanently remove all your comments. Use this only if you’re sure – there’s no undo.

We recommend running “preview” mode before bulk deleting – this way, you can quickly review your old Disqus content in one place before deciding if there’s anything you want to keep.
