In our Twitter service for Redact, you have the option to import a .zip file of your imported data.
This allows us to apply any filters you specify much faster, and makes the whole process much smoother and cleaner in general. Additionally, this eliminates the issue where particularly prolific posters needed to schedule continued deletions over long periods of time.
Finding and importing this data only takes a few steps, and it makes your life much easier. I’m going to walk you through the process below.
Finding your Twitter / X data
Before you download your package from Twitter, you need to find where it’s located first. I’m going to walk you through where to find it and how to import it into our app.
First, click the More button in the main navigation menu
On the left menu when you’re on your Twitter / X start page, look all the way at the bottom of the menu and you’ll see “more”. Click it.

Then, select Settings and privacy from the dropdown

Download an archive of your data
Under the Your Account tab, which you should be on by default, just click “Download an Archive of your Data” link, then wait!

iOS or Android Users
Finding this button on the mobile app takes a few more steps, but is just as simple.
First, tap your profile picture in the top left corner, and select Settings and Privacy on the resulting menu

From here, there will be a search bar. Simply search “data” and the page to download the archive of your data will appear, click it

Finally, tap Download Archive and proceed just like you were on desktop.
Final Step – Importing to Redact
Now that we’ve downloaded your Twitter archive, we need to upload that data package into the Redact App. I’m going to show you how to do that now, it’s very simple.
All you do it connect your Twitter / X account to Redact, if you haven’t already.
Once you connect Twitter and Redact, you’ll be presented with the screen below. Simply click the button found to the left of the data import section. That’s it, you’re done. You can now control vast amounts of Twitter data without the worry of getting rate limited.
