How to Delete All Liked Videos on TikTok at Once

Every video you've ever liked on TikTok lands in a tab on your profile that has no name, only a heart icon, and it stays there until you take the like back. TikTok has no button that clears it. You can unlike videos in the app, hide your liked videos so nobody else can browse them, or have Redact clear every like on your account at once.

Which one you pick matters more than it seems. Plenty of people post a handful of videos and like thousands, so the tab ends up saying a lot about your sense of humor, your interests and every phase you've scrolled through. TikTok uses those likes to decide what goes on your For You page, and anyone who can open the tab can read the same story, which is exactly the kind of detail social engineering scams are built on.

Option 1 - Unlike videos in the TikTok app (manual)

TikTok only takes likes back one video at a time.

  1. Open TikTok and tap Profile at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Tap the tab marked with a heart.
  3. Tap a video. It opens and starts playing.
  4. Tap the heart on the video to unlike it.
  5. Go back. The video is gone from the heart tab.

There's no way to select several videos in that tab, because tapping one only plays it. Every like means its own trip into a video and back out again, so a tab holding a few thousand likes means a few thousand of those trips.

Option 2 - Hide your liked videos without unliking anything

From your profile, tap the three lines in the top right corner, then Settings and privacy, Privacy and Liked videos, and pick Only you. The other choice is Everyone on a public account or Followers on a private one. When your liked videos are already private, TikTok shows a note at the top of the heart tab offering to make them public, which is a quick way to check.

Option 3 - Clear every like at once with Redact (automated)

Redact is a desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux that removes your TikTok likes from your own computer. Install it, sign in with the code it emails you, and connect TikTok by logging in to TikTok itself in the window the app opens. Then choose Likes.

How far back the free plan reaches

TikTok doesn't keep a date for your likes. It only knows when each video went up, so that's the date Redact goes by. The free plan clears your likes on videos posted in the last 30 days. Likes on anything older, however recently you tapped them, need Premium.

The 30 days count back from the day you start the run.

Narrow it to a stretch of time

The date range is optional. Leave it empty and the run reaches as far back as your plan allows, which on Premium means every like on the account. Fill it in and the same upload-date rule applies, so a range covering 2021 clears your likes on videos posted in 2021, including ones you only found last month. You can't target the likes you tapped during a particular week, because TikTok never noted when that was.

Preview before anything is unliked

The Likes form in Redact, with an optional date range above the liked videos a run would unlike.

Start with Preview Mode. It fetches your liked videos and lists every one the run would unlike, without changing anything on TikTok. When the list matches what you meant, switch to Deletion Mode and Redact takes your like off each video in turn. The videos stay up on their creators' profiles, and each one's like count drops by one.

TikTok limits how quickly one account can change things, so Redact spaces the unlikes out instead of sending them all at once. A tab with thousands of likes takes a while. The run happens inside the app on your computer, so keep Redact open until it's done, though you don't need to watch it.

Keep the tab empty afterwards

New likes start filling the tab again the next time you scroll. Schedule Deletion repeats your likes run on an interval you choose, and Disappearing Mode keeps clearing likes on videos once they pass an age you pick. Both are Premium features, and the TikTok scheduling page explains how each one works.

FAQ

Does TikTok tell someone when I unlike their video?

No new notification goes out when you unlike, and nothing is posted from your account. The video's like count drops by one. TikTok doesn't say whether the alert from your original like gets withdrawn, so if the creator checked their notifications back then, they may already have seen it.

Why does Redact take a while to unlike everything?

TikTok only lets an account make so many changes in a short space of time, and Redact paces the unlikes to stay inside that limit. The more likes you have, the longer the run. It carries on in the background while you use your computer for other things.

What's the difference between liked videos and Favorites on TikTok?

They're two separate lists. Liked videos are the ones you've given a heart. Favorites are the videos you've saved to come back to, along with any collections you've made. Unliking a video doesn't take it out of Favorites, and a likes run in Redact leaves Favorites alone. Saved videos are a category of their own among Redact's TikTok tools.

Can I unlike just the videos from one year?

Yes, as long as it's the year the videos were posted. TikTok keeps no date for a like, so Redact's date range works from upload dates. A range covering 2022 clears your likes on videos from 2022, even ones you liked this week, and leaves your likes on newer videos where they are.

Is it free to delete TikTok likes with Redact?

For likes on recent videos, yes. The free plan clears your likes on videos posted in the last 30 days. Likes on older videos need Premium, and so do Schedule Deletion and Disappearing Mode. Downloading the app is free.

Will clearing my likes change my For You page?

It can, because likes are one of the things TikTok builds your feed from. They aren't the only thing, though. TikTok also pays attention to the videos you watch all the way through, share and comment on, and to the accounts you follow, so clearing your likes on its own won't give you a clean slate.
