If you use Firefox, there are a huge range of extensions that can add anything from price checkers to privacy tools. It’s that latter selection we’re most interested in.

Firefox has been a popular alternative to Chrome forever. The concentration on speed, flexibility, and privacy has seen the upstart browser challenge the biggest name in every area.

It beats out its competition on many points, but Chrome still has the majority market share thanks to Chromium which powers many other browsers.

Given how much Chrome tracks us online and how much money it makes from selling our data, it’s surprising that Chrome has the share it has. But that’s not the topic of conversation today.

If you’re a Firefox user and want to enhance your privacy further, this post will help.

We’re going to outline 6 Firefox extensions that we use ourselves.

They can transform your browsing experience, and overcome some of the nefarious methods companies are using to track you.

uBlock Origin

uBlock Origin hasn't always been the most popular ad blocker, but it's certainly earned the good reputation it has. It’s free, reliable and delivers genuine protection from a wide range of trackers.

Facebook Container

Facebook Container is what you need if you’re fed up with the social network following you everywhere across the net. It seems pretty effective at what it does.

Google Container

Google Container does the same thing for Google tracking. You may find some ads and links don’t always work as they should, but on the whole, this is a very useful little app.

Disconnect

Disconnect is another extension that stops websites and businesses from tracking you. It’s surprising just how much faster pages load too!

Privacy Badger

Privacy Badger is the Firefox extension you need to track ‘invisible’ trackers. These are the ones that work really hard to avoid other blockers.

DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials

DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials is for those of you that really don’t want Google collecting data on everything you see or do or search for online. You can already select the DuckDuckGo search engine in Firefox but this takes it much further.

There are hundreds of extensions for Firefox but these 6 are the ones we use ourselves.

They are small, don’t get in the way of everyday browsing, and yet can work wonders for protecting your data and stopping your every move being tracked while online.
