The Information Era has ushered in exponential growth in technological developments, all of which share the same goal: to make life a little bit easier. However, despite all of this technology centered around “ease-of-access,” such as smartphones, tablets, and their respective applications, its users are left more burdened than ever.

Posts on Twitter or Facebook may be as simple as pushing a button, but getting rid of them takes far more effort. It takes extreme diligence to keep track of and remove all of your posts, some of which could be years old- assuming you can even find them at all. As you can imagine, this is a very stressful and high-maintenance responsibility. In fact, Pew Research Center found that roughly eight-in-ten people believe that they have little or no control over the data that government or companies collect about them. Redact, unlike other businesses, goes a step further, and seeks to relieve our users of this burden, as well as provide them with something new and refreshing- peace of mind.

Redact gives you a sense of security, as your digital footprint can be substantially diminished within seconds! Additionally, we at Redact want to ensure that our users remain anonymous by 1) allowing users to use Redact without registering an account; and 2) not tracking or downloading any data, such as usernames, passwords, or posts that are deleted by Redact.

A person’s peace of mind is priceless, which is why Redact is entirely free to use and accessible through numerous platforms! You can download Redact for Windows, MacOS, and Linux at redact.dev/download.
