Your information is extremely valuable. Even the most insignificant detail, like your dog’s name, can be revealing. If it became accessible to an online ruffian, the consequences could be devastating.

Even social media sites themselves are familiar with gathering bits and pieces about your life, whether it be Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. While they may not be as predatory as a cybercriminal, these companies are still processing your data in exchange for profit. Fortunately for you, there are some neat tricks that you can use to better protect your information!

How to Disable Location Services for Specific Apps

Your location is arguably one of your most important pieces of information. If you want to prevent a specific application from seeing where you are on your iPhone or iPad, follow these steps:

  • Open the Settings app
  • Navigate to Privacy, then Location Services
  • Scroll down to the desired application
  • Tap the app and select the Never option
